Our Approach
Science Guides Us. People Ground Us.
Our approach is scientifically backed, data-informed, and realistic to your family needs.
How we help
What families typically start with at Grounded & Growing.
-
Center-based ABA therapy
BCBA-supervised sessions at our Darien clinic that build communication, play, daily living, and social skills in a calm, structured setting.
-
Intake & assessment
A free consultation, then a clear assessment so goals reflect your child, your family, and what growth should look like in real life.
-
Caregiver partnership
Parent and caregiver coaching so skills continue at home — because progress is strongest when families and clinicians grow together.
-
Insurance guidance
We help Illinois families understand ABA benefits and next steps before therapy begins. Bring your card to consultation when you can.
-
Data that still listens
Data shows what is working and where to adjust — it never replaces listening to your child and family.
-
Progress that matters
Communication, connection, independence, and daily living — evidence-based, family-led, individualized, grounded in real life.
Moments we help you through
Wherever you are in the process, you can start with a conversation.
-
You are exploring ABA for the first time
Tell us about your child and what you are hoping to find. We will answer questions and help determine fit.
-
You need insurance decoded
Bring your card when you can. We talk through benefits, verification, and next steps without the maze feeling.
-
You are transferring from another provider
We listen to what worked, what did not, and whether our Darien clinic is a healthier next chapter.
-
You want a clear path
Conversation → understanding → assessment & planning → growing together → partnership along the way.
Our approach — FAQ
Is ABA only for autism?
Yes, families come to us with an autism spectrum diagnosis. A recommendation to ABA is helpful but not necessary. If you are waiting on paperwork, transferring from another provider, or unsure whether ABA is the right fit, tell us in consultation — we will be clear about what we can offer, or how we can help.
How often are sessions?
Hours depend on assessment, medical necessity, and your family’s capacity. We discuss a realistic schedule before therapy begins.
Will my child only work 1:1?
Center-based ABA is typically highly individualized. However there is a team of trained individuals that work to support your child.
